Effects of two training methods on the flexibility of indoor soccer players

With the constant and continuous evolution and professionalization of sport, the search for maximum performance is linked to a complete set of activities that make up an athlete's training system. Among the important actions in the comprehensive preparation of a player, the development of flexibility stands out, as it determines many of the possibilities for performance. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of two methodological proposals for flexibility training, applied to futsal athletes in the city of Bucaramanga, based on the method of Dr. Aaron Mattes (Mattes Method) versus the Bod Anderson method, in order to corroborate which of these has a greater impact on improving flexibility in athletes. Men between the ages of 19 and 30 were selected to participate in this study:
1. Group: 13 futsal players belonging to the Real Bucaramanga professional team from the Department of Santander, who are part of the Professional Futsal Division of the Colombian Football Federation and participate in the First Division Professional Futsal Tournament “Copa Argos.”
2. Group: 10 athletes from the futsal team representing the Industrial University of Santander in the ASCUN tournament.
3. Group: 11 students from a futsal team.
It was concluded that the active-static method (Mattes Method) is significantly effective, as is the passive method (Anderson Method), since the athletes who underwent the intervention showed a statistically significant improvement in flexibility indices compared to the control group.
