The main purpose of this article is to address the emergence of the knowledge society, from situations such as educational inequalities, the role of emerging technologies in education, education for the development of competencies, pedagogical innovation and the design of new educational models in open education with universal access to knowledge. Digital competencies, the transformation of the teacher's role and personalized education through the use of artificial intelligence are also taken into account. The methodology was approached from a qualitative approach, through the interpretative paradigm, which allowed recognizing education and technological resources as effective forms of access to the knowledge society.
