Abstract

The adoption of new information technologies has brought visible changes in the behavior of people and markets, so identifying mechanisms that allow organizations to adapt continuously in a changing environment is a topic of interest. In this context, the phenomenon of Digital Transformation (TD) acquires great relevance due to the benefits it generates in companies that achieve its correct planning and implementation. However, despite DT being perceived as a source of continuous change that can help organizations, there is a lack of consensus regarding its definition, characteristics, and dimensions. In order to define which are the factors that influence the DT process, as well as to identify which are the dimensions impacted by the formulation of a digital strategy, a semi-structured interview was applied to six DT service providers and the Atlas.ti software for the coding process. A definition of DT is proposed, its main phases and a list of dimensions impacted in the formulation of a digital strategy are identified. Finally, recommendations to be considered in a DT process are presented.
