Functions:
- Report to the Publications Committee.
- Improve the dissemination and impact of the journal.
- Supervise editors and staff.
- Responsible to authors, reviewers, readers, the scientific community, the publishing institution, and the general public.
Profile and Responsibilities:
- General scientific knowledge and skills in scientific writing and editing.
- Publish original and relevant articles.
- Meet publication deadlines, preferably in continuous mode.
- Establish and update editorial policies.
- Communicate updates to the Publications Committee.
- Ensure maximum visibility of the journal.
- Chair Editorial Team meetings.
- Handle complaints and ethical issues.
- Formulate and execute the annual budget.
- Represent the Editorial Committee in negotiations.
Editorial Freedom:
- Full authority to determine the content of the journal.
Editor’s Term:
- Appointed for a defined number of years, renewable at the Committee's discretion.
Editorial Ethics:
- Follows the recommendations of the Council of Science Editors and, in particular, the White Paper on Publication Ethics.
