Author Guidelines: Similarity Check with Turnitin

1. Introduction:
The @Limentech Journal of Food Science and Technology uses the Turnitin tool to verify the originality of submitted manuscripts and to uphold high standards of academic integrity. Authors are required to prepare their manuscripts in accordance with these guidelines.

2. Purpose of the Similarity Check:
To ensure that submitted manuscripts meet an acceptable level of originality. The journal establishes a recommended similarity threshold of 17%.

3. Recommendations for Authors:

  • Pre-submission review: Review the manuscript prior to submission, ensuring proper use of citations and references.
  • Proper citation: Similarity may result from direct quotations, paraphrasing, or previously published work. Verify that all sources are correctly attributed.
  • Preliminary tools: Use text similarity checking tools to identify potential matches before submitting the manuscript.
  • Similarity control: Keep the similarity index below 17%. If the percentage is higher, review and revise the highlighted sections.

4. Editorial Process:
The editorial team will review the similarity report generated by Turnitin. Manuscripts exceeding the 17% threshold will be examined in detail to determine the nature of the similarities.

5. Commitment to Academic Integrity:
The journal appreciates the authors’ cooperation in ensuring the quality and originality of submitted manuscripts. For additional inquiries, authors may contact the editorial team.

Important Notes:

  • A similarity index higher than 17% does not imply automatic rejection; clarifications or revisions may be requested when necessary.
  • Turnitin supports academic integrity but is not a tool for evaluating scientific quality.
