Abstract

Approaching teachability and educability as parallel topics in an expository context is not entirely advisable, considering that each implies completely independent developmental processes. However, in practical contexts, they are related and complementary. For example, educability paves the way for and lays the foundation for teachability. Moreover, both focus on the human being as the object of study, guaranteeing the learning process throughout life, which becomes part of one’s personality and intellectual development. Focusing on the conditions of educability of adolescents and adults leads to questioning universities, and specifically programs in Physical Education, Recreation, and Sports, about what is expected of them. These conditions are not defined by themselves but result from the model of the student assumed by the higher education institution
