Abstract

Faculty with a Master's or Doctorate degree, hired as adjunct or part-time instructors, on a temporary or permanent basis, in all Higher Education Institutions, whether Public or Private, are only considered collaborators due to lacking the institutionally recognized desirable profile. If Higher Education Institutions modify their criteria related to the desirable profile for research members of Academic Bodies, Networks, and Scientific Research Lines, would Faculty with a Master's or Doctorate degree, hired as adjunct or part-time instructors, on a temporary or permanent basis, at Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla and in general at the higher education level, whether Public or Private, be able to join as research members of Academic Bodies (AB), Networks (N), and Scientific Research Lines? This is a research inquiry. The present work aims to analyze why the entirety of faculty members, currently guiding, coordinating, mentoring, facilitating, and instructing the learning-teaching process, are not included, and especially, the limitations that prevail in their integration as research members of "Academic Bodies (AB), Networks (N), and Scientific Research Lines," due to lacking the "desirable profile," an exclusive benefit of faculty with a Full-Time category, with academic degrees of Doctorate, Master's, and with Permanent employment at BUAP.
