Abstract

Establishing a link between the language and expressions used by coaches and biomechanical terminology and principles is key to making the most of the information and results of the work carried out by coaches and biomechanics specialists, with a view to controlling training and improving technique and athletic performance. The purpose of this study was to develop a table of effectiveness indicators that classifies and organizes information and allows for the assessment of sports technique based on biomechanical criteria, taking the throwing of the tejo as the object of study. The methodology followed was based on qualitative analysis, but associated with quantitative data from the literature, and consisted of several stages:

1. Collecting information on the technical movement;

2. Setting its final objective;

3. Dividing the movement into phases;

4. Determining the effectiveness criteria for each phase;

5. Identifying the technical aspects used by coaches to teach and improve technique;

6. Identifying and defining the biomechanical variables related to these technical aspects;

7. Indicating the assessment criteria for each variable;

8. Note the values provided by the literature for these biomechanical variables.

This was a case study with a longitudinal panel design, analyzing the technical movements of five athletes from the departmental women's Tejo Rama team, in which the behavior of kinematic and performance variables was characterized. The athletes had six years of experience participating in national and international competitions. A Cronbach's alpha value of <= 0.874 was determined for biomechanical variables, indicating good reliability with respect to data recording. An ANOVA was applied to the biomechanical variables with respect to moments, with the result that there were no significant differences (p<0.05). A T-test (p<0.05) was performed on the standardized technical gesture model designed for this group of weavers, which demonstrated homogeneity in the execution of the technique by each of the team members and in each of the moments. A cluster analysis was performed to compare the homogeneity between phases (2 and 3).
