Editors' Commitments
Publication Decision: We ensure the selection of referees with expertise in the subject matter of the submitted work to the journal, aiming to provide their assessment with low critical bias and possible biases.
Articles undergoing arbitration and subsequently adjusted for publication will be based on the merit of the authors directly related to their content, without any conditioning regarding political opinion, race, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, nationality, or gender. Corrections or errata to an article by the publishing entity may generate multiple versions, which will be made public in the OJS system; any identified errors will be adjusted in new versions in a timely manner.
Editors, the Editorial Committee, and referees are obligated to preserve intellectual integrity and confidentiality in the editorial process, understanding that anonymity preserves the intellectual integrity of the entire process. Conflict of Interest and Disclosure: Editors pledge not to use content from articles submitted for publication in their research without the written consent of the author.
Policies to Mitigate Inbreeding in the FACE Scientific Journal of the University of Pamplona:
The FACE Scientific Journal of the University of Pamplona recognizes the importance of promoting diversity, impartiality, and excellence in research publication. In order to strengthen the quality and integrity of our journal, the following policies are established to mitigate editorial inbreeding:
- Limitation of Dual Participation:
To maintain impartiality and diversity in article authorship, it is established that NO research papers will be published where at least one of the authors is an editor, a member of the editorial board, or a reviewer. The restriction on institutional publishing by the FACE journal should not exceed two articles based on any of the last three published issues, applied to both members of the University of Pamplona and external collaborators.
- Promotion of External Collaboration:
We encourage interinstitutional collaboration and the participation of external authors in our issues. The evaluation and selection of manuscripts from different institutions and geographic regions will be prioritized to ensure a broad and enriching perspective in the journal's content.
- Independent Peer Review:
Members of the editorial board and reviewers of the FACE Scientific Journal are committed to conducting impartial evaluations based on the scientific quality of the works. Any bias related to the authors' institutional affiliation will be avoided. Peer review will be rigorous and objective, ensuring the selection of the best works regardless of inbreeding considerations.
- Transparency and Disclosure:
The journal will publicly disclose statistics on the proportion of papers with authors affiliated with the institution and the editorial committee. This transparency aims to maintain accountability and allow for oversight and analysis of our editorial practices.
- Editorial Decentralization:
We will continue to implement strategies that promote editorial decentralization from both an institutional and geographical perspective. We will seek to expand the diversity of perspectives and voices in our editorial processes, ensuring equitable representation and significant contribution from different entities and regions.
Through these policies, the FACE Scientific Journal reaffirms its commitment to scientific excellence, impartiality, and openness in research publication. These measures will strengthen the quality and relevance of our journal in the academic sphere and contribute to the advancement of knowledge for the benefit of the scientific community and society at large.
