Pedagogical Mediation and Teacher Entrepreneurship in the Area of Physical Education in Educational Institutions

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze pedagogical mediation and teacher entrepreneurship in the area of physical education in Primary Education institutions. The study was supported by the theoretical postulates of Álvarez del Valle (2013), Prieto (2007), Ausubel (2013), Fernández and Gutiérrez (2011), Urbano and Toledano (2011), Kundel (2011), among others. It follows a quantitative positivist approach and employs a descriptive, field-based, cross-sectional, and non-experimental research design. The population consisted of fifty-eight (58) teachers. For data collection, the observation technique through a survey was used, employing a questionnaire composed of forty-two (42) items, validated by expert judgment and tested in a pilot study with 10 participants. The results were analyzed using Cronbach's Alpha, yielding a reliability index of 0.95. For data analysis, descriptive statistics were applied using SPSS version 20, indicating the frequency of responses and the arithmetic mean by dimension and indicators. The study concluded that pedagogical mediation among teachers in the studied educational institutions is linked to the development of teacher entrepreneurship. Thus, innovation processes aimed at entrepreneurship are conceived as part of the pedagogical mediation process.
