About the Journal
Aims and Scope
Ciencia y Tecnología Agropecuaria is a scientific journal dedicated to the dissemination of original research, review articles, and reflective papers that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in agricultural sciences and related fields.
The journal addresses topics related to agronomy, animal science, soil sciences, plant and animal production, biotechnology, agroindustry, environmental management, rural development, agricultural economics, agricultural engineering, and other disciplines linked to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
With a biannual publication frequency and national and international outreach, the journal serves as a forum for the exchange of knowledge, results, and scientific experiences among researchers, professionals, and stakeholders from the productive and academic sectors. Its purpose is to promote scientific dissemination, strengthen interinstitutional and interdisciplinary collaboration, and contribute to sustainable development and innovation in agriculture.
Manuscripts may be submitted in Spanish or English and must correspond to research, review, or reflective articles. All submissions undergo peer review under ethical and scientific quality criteria, ensuring the integrity and rigor of the editorial process.
The editorial management is supported by a scientific and editorial board composed of national and international experts committed to academic excellence, thematic relevance, and scientific impact in the agricultural field.

Submission and Publication Fees. Free of Charge
Ciencia y Tecnología Agropecuaria is an Open Access journal that does not charge any fees for the peer-review and publication process, including review, layout, printing, and distribution (APCs). As an open access journal, no fees are charged for accessing or downloading its content.
Anti-Plagiarism Policy
Through the use of Turnitin software, licensed by the University of Pamplona, Ciencia y Tecnología Agropecuaria conducts plagiarism and self-plagiarism analyses to ensure the originality of submitted manuscripts. The journal editor uploads the author’s document to this online software.
Digital Preservation Policy and Use of Uniform Identifiers
Ciencia y Tecnología Agropecuaria ensures the digital preservation of its content through the efficient use of Open Journal Systems (OJS). All articles published in the journal are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), a persistent identifier managed by Crossref, which guarantees long-term accessibility and traceability of publications.
In addition, the journal is part of the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), where its content is securely stored using the LOCKSS system, developed by Stanford University Libraries. This digital preservation infrastructure ensures a permanent and reliable archive for the journal, safeguarding access to information against potential loss or digital degradation.
Ciencia y Tecnología Agropecuaria currently operates on the Open Journal Systems platform version 3.5.0.1 and is indexed in several national and international repositories, including Latindex and DIALNET. All published articles use DOI as uniform resource identifiers, which are managed and registered within the OJS system.
Interoperability Protocol
The journal not only implements advanced interoperability protocols such as OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative–Protocol for Metadata Harvesting), but also ensures that its content is easily accessible and reusable by a wide range of distribution systems, including digital repositories, harvesters, and academic search engines. Through integration with systems such as LOCKSS and CLOCKSS, the journal guarantees long-term preservation and continuous access to its published issues, providing greater security to readers and institutions interested in the permanence of information. Furthermore, the journal offers detailed, high-quality metadata, facilitating indexing and visibility on global platforms, contributing to knowledge exchange and expanding its academic impact.

The University of Pamplona is the publishing institution that, through budgetary allocations for periodical publications, sponsors the journal under the responsibility of the Vice-Rector’s Office for Research.
