Manuscript Submission Guidelines

Before submitting your manuscript, it is essential that authors carefully review whether the content of their article aligns with the journal's thematic areas and editorial guidelines. Additionally, ensure that the manuscript is original and unpublished, meaning it has not been previously published or is being considered simultaneously by another journal or publisher.

Step 1: Manuscript Preparation

  • Authors interested in submitting their work must use the templates provided by the journal.
  • The manuscript must be submitted in both languages, Spanish and English, to facilitate the review and publication process.

Step 2: Author Information

  • In the author template, complete the personal information fields for each author: first name, last name, nationality, country of birth, date of birth, identity document number and type, institutional affiliation, education level, phone number, email (institutional and/or personal), and ORCID link.
  • It is essential to complete this information for each author of the scientific document. If an ORCID profile is not available, authors are encouraged to create one.
  • Provide detailed information about the associated research using the specific template. Include fields such as project name, objective, summary, project type, start and end dates, justification, description of needs, impacts, goals, project duration, total project cost, and total executed cost.

Step 3: License Letter and Conflict of Interest Declaration

  • Submit the license letter and conflict of interest declaration signed by all authors in digital format.

If your manuscript includes images and tables, they must be attached separately in a RAR file. Ensure that these images and tables maintain optimal resolution to guarantee high-quality reproduction. Additionally, name them according to their order of appearance (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1). This procedure will streamline the editorial process and ensure an optimal visual presentation in the final publication.

Citations and references must be managed using a reference manager such as Mendeley or Zotero, or Word’s reference tool. Additionally, an accompanying file with references in BibTeX format or another recognized format should be provided. This ensures a more rigorous bibliographic review and facilitates the correct management and verification of the sources used.

The *Revista Colombiana de Tecnologías de Avanzada* (RCTA) uses Turnitin to verify manuscript similarity, assessing originality and academic integrity. Authors must ensure that their work meets the established criteria, maintaining a similarity index below 17%. Before submitting your manuscript, it is crucial to thoroughly review it to avoid unwanted similarities and properly use citations and bibliographic references. Authors are encouraged to use text verification tools for a preliminary review. During the editorial process, Turnitin reports are reviewed, and manuscripts exceeding 17% similarity will be carefully evaluated.

Article submissions can be made through the Open Journal System platform after completing the required registration. Direct submission is also accepted via the following email address: rcta@unipamplona.edu.co

The editorial committee will notify you of your article's status and the reviewers' observations for potential publication.
