About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Journal of the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences (FACE) aims primarily to disseminate high-impact research in the field of Social Sciences, covering a broad range of disciplines such as business, accounting, marketing, management, human talent, industrial relations, tourism, and technologies. Its purpose is to contribute to the improvement of teaching and to serve as a reference channel for the exchange and development of scientific knowledge, promoting the advancement of Economic, Administrative, and Business Sciences.

Published on a four-month basis with both national and international coverage, the journal provides a space for the exchange of knowledge among academics and researchers from diverse contexts and sectors. Its mission is to disseminate technological advances and foster interinstitutional collaboration, attracting contributions from researchers with links to both academia and industry worldwide. In addition to original research articles, the journal also publishes review articles that analyze the state of the art, identify emerging trends, and suggest future directions in developing areas. Manuscripts must be products of research, review, or reflection and must be submitted in Spanish and English for peer review. Editorial management of the journal is carried out by the Vice-Rector’s Office for Research of the University of Pamplona, with the aim of consolidating it as a publication of scientific excellence, supported by an editorial board composed of nationally and internationally renowned experts, reaffirming its commitment to generating a significant impact on the academic community.

Publication periodicity: Four-monthly (since 2022).

Open Access Policy

This is an open access journal, which means that all its content is freely available to users or their institutions. The material is published under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). This allows users to:

  • Copy, distribute, and share the material in any medium or format.
  • Remix, transform, and create derivative works from the original content.

However, these freedoms are subject to the following conditions:

  1. Attribution (BY): Appropriate credit must be given to the author and the original source, a link to the license must be provided, and any changes must be indicated.
  2. NonCommercial (NC): The material may not be used for commercial purposes, either in its original form or as a derivative work.
  3. ShareAlike (SA): If the material is remixed, transformed, or built upon, the resulting work must be distributed under the same CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.

This license facilitates the use of the journal’s content for educational purposes, summaries, analyses, or other non-profit activities, provided that the original authorship is respected. For any commercial use, explicit permission from the copyright holder is required.

Submission and Publication Fees. Free of Charge

The Journal of the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences (FACE) is an Open Access publication that does not charge any fees for the peer review and publication process, which includes review, layout, printing, and distribution (APCs). As an open access journal, no fees are charged for accessing or downloading the journal.

Plagiarism Policy

Through the use of the Turnitin software, licensed by the University of Pamplona, the Journal of the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences (FACE) conducts plagiarism and self-plagiarism analyses to ensure the originality of submitted manuscripts. The journal editor registers the author’s document in this online software.

Digital Preservation Policy and Use of Uniform Identifiers

TheJournal of the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences (FACE) ensures the digital preservation of its content through the efficient use of Open Journal Systems (OJS). All articles published in the journal are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), a persistent identifier managed by Crossref, which guarantees long-term accessibility and traceability of publications.

In addition, the journal is part of the PKP Preservation Network, where its content is securely stored in the LOCKSS system, developed by Stanford University Library. This digital preservation infrastructure ensures a permanent and reliable archive for the journal, safeguarding access to information against potential digital loss or deterioration.

The Journal of the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences (FACE) currently operates on the Open Journal Systems 3.4.0.9 platform and is indexed in several national and international repositories, including Latindex and DIALNET. It has also been evaluated and classified in Category C of the Publindex Colombia index, a status it maintains to date. All published articles use DOI as uniform resource identifiers, which are managed and registered within the OJS system.

Interoperability Protocol

The journal not only implements advanced interoperability protocols such as OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative–Protocol for Metadata Harvesting), but also ensures that its content is easily accessible and reusable by a wide range of distribution systems, including digital repositories, aggregators (harvesters), and academic search engines. Through integration with systems such as LOCKSS and CLOCKSS, the journal guarantees long-term preservation and continuous access to its published issues, providing greater security to readers and institutions interested in the permanence of the information. Additionally, the journal offers detailed, high-quality metadata, facilitating indexing and visibility on global platforms and contributing to knowledge exchange and the expansion of its academic impact.

The University of Pamplona is the publishing entity that, through budgetary allocations for periodical publications, sponsors the journal under the responsibility of the Vice-Rector’s Office for Research.
