Communication technology and language communication systems. A systematic review from a speech-language pathology perspective.

INTRODUCTION: The objective of this study is to analyze the available scientific evidence in the intervention of people with disabilities and augmentative and alternative communication, METHODS: A descriptive systematic review in which a search was carried out in different databases over a 10-year timeline, being in studies with human beings with disabilities. RESULTS: This review made it possible to demonstrate the different resources available at the Phonetic Phonological, Semantic, Morphosyntactic levels and the use of communication technology in language for people with disabilities. ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION: In the intervention processes carried out by the professional in speech therapy, the importance of the use of technology is currently highlighted as a tool that allows to efficiently address the difficulties that may arise in the field of communication. CONCLUSIONS: It is necessary to delve into research for Spanish-speaking users in order to strengthen language development and/or create intervention strategies that allow improving communicative performance in a specific context.
