Tendencias en el aprovechamiento de residuos de mango para la obtención de materiales no alimentarios

Resumen

El mango (Mangifera indica) es una fruta tropical ampliamente consumida en todo el mundo, lo que conlleva a la generación significativa de residuos en la industria. Estos residuos, en su mayoría desechados, son utilizados para la obtención de alimentos secundarios como pulpas y jugos, ofreciendo un potencial inexplorado para la obtención de biomateriales de alto valor. Este artículo analiza las tendencias actuales del aprovechamiento de residuos del mango para la producción de biomateriales entre los cuales están los bioplásticos, compuestos bioactivos y nanomateriales. Además, se destaca la importancia de la interdisciplinariedad entre las cadenas agroindustriales y la ciencia de materiales.
