Abstract

The objective of this study was to investigate the result of the efficiency, efficacy and effectiveness of the attacks in the K1 phase, performed from positions 1 and 6, in high-level women's volleyball, to characterize the offense of the game in the senior category of national teams of the VLN 2023 Cup in its final phase in Arlington, Texas. The sample was composed by the observation of 8 matches, where 306 reception situations were evaluated and quantified among all the matches, classifying them in 3 performance levels and among them, a total of 155 attacks from the position of fullback 1 were identified and quantified, 151 attacks from the position of fullback 6, for a total of 306 identified spikes, of which 76 effective points were found by fullback from position 1 and 68 effective points by fullback from position 6 and a total of 144 points by both backcourt zones; On the other hand, 19 attack errors were quantified for zone 1 and 16 for zone 6, for a total of 35 errors. The findings showed a relationship between attack performance and the variables attack place, attack jump time, attack type and attack effect, also, it was identified that when the attack is performed from position 6, it is associated with a predominantly parallel attack direction, while, when analyzing position 1, the attack point is associated with a diagonal attack direction. In addition, the positioned or touch type attack was associated with game continuity and low quality receptions (B and C). In this context, it was concluded that the attack position influences the performance of the attack, according to the time of jump and type of attack. It is remarkable in the results the quality of reception Excellent (A) associated with successful points, at the level of the finalist teams, to the setter and his distribution with high communication with his attackers. The third 3 time of jumping to the attack is relevant in this study with figures of 116 position zone (1) and 102 position sector (6).
