This article presents the implementation of a prototype of an automated system for the reading and control of variables in electric energy meters, being a fundamental response to contemporary and future challenges in the energy distribution sector. This approach not only addresses the current demands of the energy landscape, characterized by the need for efficiency and intelligent management, but also projects into the future, anticipating and facing the emerging challenges in the expansion and modernization of electrical infrastructures, optimizing remote reading and accurate control of variables. The results show a significant opportunity to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs in the electricity sector, being the adoption of communication protocols such as DLMS/COSEM and Modbus, supported by the implementation of telemetric systems on platforms such as Raspberry Pi or Orange Pi with Python programming.
