This paper deals with the modeling and simulation of a DSTATCOM (Distribution Synchronous Static Synchronous Compensator) in shunt connection to compensate an electrical power system. The simulation in the selected software will determine the performance, stability, power factor correction and voltage regulation in three-phase distribution systems. The behavior of the DSTATCOM will be tested in simulation under a condition that affects the power quality of the system.
