Colombia faces challenges in access to education for low-income people, generating limited job opportunities and high levels of poverty. This situation contributes to the increase of defaulters in the financial sector, complicating the identification of client trustworthiness. This paper proposes a tool to estimate the trustworthiness of financial clients in Cartagena, Colombia, through sentiment analysis and fuzzy logic, using Pratt's iterative research pattern. The tool collects data from the lender on the perceived trustworthiness of the borrower and applies sentiment analysis to the borrower through a survey, the results are fuzzified to determine perception levels, and 36 inference rules are used to obtain the borrower's trustworthiness. A case study demonstrated that the tool provides an adequate assessment of financial customer trustworthiness, matching the inputs and opinion of an expert lender.
