Abstract

The purpose of this research was to identify women with fibromyalgia working at the E.S.E. Hospital San Juan de Dios in Pamplona through the application of the structured questionnaires Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ) and Short Form-36 Health Survey (SF-36). In addition, it aimed to determine their level of comfort based on Katharine Kolcaba’s Comfort Theory, through the application of validated mid-range theory instruments, specifically the General Comfort Questionnaire (GCQ), identifying the three types of comfort (relief, ease, and transcendence) developed by Dr. Katharine Kolcaba. For the completion of this research, the instruments were administered to women between 25 and 60 years of age working at the E.S.E. Hospital San Juan de Dios in Pamplona, who provided informed consent during the first academic period of 2012.
