Letter Editor Environmental Journal Water, Air and Soil Volume 15 N°1 2024

Abstract

We are honored to address you in this issue of the Environmental Journal Water, Air and Soil (RAAAS). At a time when environmental challenges are increasingly pressing, it is crucial to maintain an informed and proactive dialogue on the issues affecting our planet.

The purpose of Volume 15, Issue No. 2 year 2023 of the Environmental Journal Water, Air and Soil, is to disseminate knowledge in the environmental area, with the contribution of research papers published in its three main topics Water, Air and Soil, in order to provide an opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and experiences related to the environment, to generate recommendations and concrete agreements through the design of strategies for action and collaboration among participants. In this way we intend to enrich Colombian scientific knowledge in environmental areas.

In this issue, we are pleased to present a selection of articles that address a range of environmental issues, from biodiversity loss to climate change and sustainable natural resource management. Each article has been selected for its significant contribution to understanding and addressing these crucial challenges. The published articles explore areas of knowledge and learning in sampling methods for the characterization of microplastics in river ecosystems, biogas production from cocoa shells and mucilage, ecosystem services, production processes under the Lean Manufacturing approach, improvements in profitability and agricultural administrative management, sustainable waste derived from the industrial process, impact of agricultural practices, greenwashing, environmental responsibility and carbon footprint, among other topics. These analyses enrich the academic, research and extension landscape by offering an essential perspective to understand and address contemporary environmental challenges facing the environment in relation to global negative environmental impacts.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the researchers and authors whose work has made this edition possible. Their dedication to scientific research in the environmental field is fundamental to finding effective solutions to the problems we face as a society. We also extend our gratitude to the expert reviewers whose rigorous and detailed work has ensured the quality and relevance of the articles published in this edition. Their commitment to the advancement of knowledge on environmental issues is fundamental to the success of our journal.

We invite the scientific community to make this knowledge published in the Environmental Journal Water, Air and Soil a reference for their work and allow us to have the honor of accompanying them in their references for their future research projects.
