Abstract

The document addresses the political, social, and economic issues of the 20th century in Europe, from the world wars to the Great Depression and the industrial revolution. It contextualizes from the 17th to the 19th century, highlighting the French Revolution and the Enlightenment. The First World War marked the collapse of Western civilization, while the Great Depression exacerbated the rise of Nazism in Germany. The Second World War showed xenophobia and genocide. Subsequently, African decolonizations marked a regime change. Despite the creation of the UN in 1945 to promote human rights, issues of discrimination and xenophobia persist in current politics.
