Actualmente, se han desarrollado radares meteorológicos de bajo costo, que no solo brindan una información precisa y en tiempo real de los fenómenos atmosféricos, sino que son una excelente opción para países con relieves complejos, tal es el caso de Colombia, debido a que son de corto alcance. Por esta razón, la implementación de radares meteorológicos de bajo costo, se hace necesario para la protección de la comunidad y del buen desarrollo de las operaciones aéreas.
