INTRODUCTION: The social determinants of health (SDH) are organized into structural factors and intermediate factors. (1) Within the first are the axes of inequality, where "Social class" is part of the analysis of inequalities and for the present study, are analyzed in a group of people with disabilities. The purpose was to relate the inequalities of this group with respect to people without disabilities, based on the analysis of the conditions that determine the social class. METHODS: Cross-sectional study, which had as subject population people with disabilities included in the Registry for the Location and Characterization of People with Disabilities in the neighborhoods of Belén, San Miguel, 28 de Febrero and Antonia Santos in the city of Cúcuta, compared to people who live in the same territory and who do not have this condition. The Social Class Questionnaire of the European Socio-economic Classification is applied. RESULTS: Among people with disabilities, small-scale employers and self-employed workers (not in agriculture) predominate, accounting for 65.22%. ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION: It is observed that people with and without disabilities belong to a middle social class. CONCLUSIONS: There is a marked relationship between social class as an axis of inequality among people with disabilities in the Belén, San Miguel, 28 de Febrero, and Antonia Santos neighborhoods, especially in self-employment or routine employment, which is the main option within the area. This factor can be configured as a determinant of vulnerability.
