Abstract

Introduction: Screening methods are of great importance in swallowing assessment and are implemented by speech-language pathologists as a functional analysis tool. They are designed for the rapid and effective detection of disorders and are easy to interpret. They merit practical application, providing therapists with clear guidelines for referrals. These methods, linked to the context of swallowing care, allow speech-language pathologists to use assessment techniques applicable to the various healthcare settings in which they operate. Given the characteristics of healthcare in Colombia, they function as a rapidly applicable tool and are established as accurate, reliable, and high-quality strategies. Their results will be used by professionals as a sound basis for a preliminary diagnosis and to generate an approach tailored to the identified characteristics and needs. The research project focused on the objective of developing a screening proposal based on a graphical result analysis that refers to the functional status of the process evaluated in different consistencies through a functional curve that denotes the characteristics.
