Style Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to CBS Journal must strictly comply with these style guidelines. Failure to meet the formal requirements may result in the manuscript being returned without initiating the editorial review process.

1. Manuscript Format

The manuscript must be prepared in Microsoft Word and strictly adhere to the following technical specifications:
  • Paper size: Letter (21.5 × 28 cm).
  • Font: Arial, size 12.
  • Line spacing: 1.5.
  • Maximum length: 15 pages. Manuscripts exceeding this limit will not be considered for review.

The manuscript must be written in the third person. Proper use of diacritical marks in uppercase letters is recommended, and expressions in other languages should be presented in italics.

2. Accepted Article Types

CBS Journal accepts the following types of articles:

Scientific or technological research article
Reflection article
Review article
Clinical case
Note: Clinical cases may include a maximum of three authors, including at least one attending professional.

3. General Structure of the Manuscript

3.1 Article Header

a) Title: It must clearly and precisely describe the content of the article, allowing the topic addressed to be unequivocally identified.

b) Authors:

  • Full names and surnames in publication order.
  • Institutional affiliation (institution, city, and country).
  • Institutional or academic email address.
  • ORCID ID.
Extended administrative information about the authors and the declaration of the origin of the article must be completed exclusively in the official journal forms and must not be included within the manuscript.

c) Abstract (Spanish and English): Maximum 300 words. It must include:

  • Object of study and objectives.
  • Main theoretical foundations.
  • Methodology used.
  • General results and main conclusions.

d) Keywords: Between 3 and 5 descriptors in Spanish and English, standardized according to DeCS.

4. Structure According to Article Type

  • Scientific or technological research: Introduction, theoretical framework, methodology, results and discussion, conclusions, and references.
  • Reflection: Introduction, theoretical framework, discussion, and references.
  • Review: Introduction, theoretical framework, theoretical development, and references.
  • Clinical cases: Introduction, clinical description, therapeutic management, conclusions, and references.

5. Figures and Tables

  • Consecutive numbering with title at the top.
  • Explicit citation within the text.
  • Inclusion in the manuscript and additional submission as a separate file in its original format (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • The total must not exceed the equivalent of two pages in the results section.
Ethical and Legal Considerations:
  • Patient photographs must preserve privacy.
  • Images of minors must comply with current legal regulations.
  • Figures from other sources require proper citation and written authorization from the copyright holder.

6. References and Citation

  • Current APA standards.
  • All in-text citations must appear in the reference list.
  • Alphabetical order in the bibliography.
  • Brief author notes numbered consecutively.
  • Complete and verifiable bibliographic information.
Final note: Submission of the manuscript implies full acceptance of these guidelines. The journal reserves the right to make editorial style adjustments.
