Guidelines for Reviewers

Review Procedure

1. Manuscript Submission

The author submits their manuscript through the journal's editorial platform, using the official template and complying with the established submission guidelines.

2. Initial Review

The editorial team performs a preliminary review to verify that the manuscript complies with:

  • The journal's thematic focus and scope.
  • The established formatting guidelines.
  • Basic originality through the use of Turnitin.

If the manuscript does not meet these requirements, it will be rejected at this stage.

3. Ethical Evaluation

It is ensured that the manuscript adheres to ethical principles, such as:

  • Absence of plagiarism and self-plagiarism.
  • Respect for copyright.
  • Declaration of conflicts of interest, if applicable.

4. Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial review are sent for external evaluation under the double-blind peer review system. Two expert reviewers assess the manuscript based on:

  • Scientific quality.
  • Originality.
  • Relevance and impact.
  • Methodological rigor.

5. Review Outcomes

Upon completion of the evaluation, the author is informed of one of the following four outcomes:

  • Accept: The manuscript is accepted as submitted.
  • Minor Revisions: The manuscript requires minor changes.
  • Major Revisions: The manuscript needs significant changes and a new evaluation.
  • Reject: The manuscript is not accepted.

6. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers' reports, the Editor makes a final editorial decision, which may be:

  • Acceptance for publication.
  • Request for additional modifications.
  • Justified rejection.

7. Evaluation Criteria

The evaluation is carried out based on standardized criteria, which consider:

  • Clarity and coherence of the content.
  • Relevance and up-to-dateness of the references.
  • Originality and innovation of the work.
  • Potential impact on society and the environment.

8. Final Approval

Once the requested corrections are made, the Editorial Committee approves the manuscript for publication.

9. Final Review and Publication

The approved manuscript undergoes a stage of:

  • Style editing.
  • Layout and editorial design.
  • DOI assignment and online publication.

10. Authors' Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for:

  • The accuracy and originality of the data presented.
  • Obtaining the necessary permissions for the use of protected material.
  • Declaring any conflicts of interest.
  • Making the suggested corrections within the stipulated deadlines.
  • Complying with the ethical principles of scientific publishing.
