About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Cuidado y Ocupación Humana (RCOH) is a scientific and academic dissemination journal, published on a semiannual basis and currently undergoing indexing processes. The journal is dedicated to publishing original research articles, review articles, and scholarly reflections that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in fields related to care, health, and human occupation.
The journal addresses topics related to public health, community health, clinical practice, comprehensive rehabilitation, occupational health and safety, educational guidance and vocational rehabilitation, psychosocial rehabilitation, regular and special education, as well as other areas associated with health sciences, social sciences, and disciplines linked to human occupation.
With both national and international reach, Cuidado y Ocupación Humana serves as a platform for the exchange of scientific knowledge and professional experiences among researchers, practitioners, and students in the health sector and related fields. Its mission is to promote rigorous academic dissemination, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and foster scientific production focused on care and human occupation.
All submissions undergo peer review and are evaluated according to ethical, methodological, and scientific quality criteria, ensuring the integrity and rigor of the editorial process. The journal publishes only original manuscripts that have not been previously published or simultaneously submitted to other journals or publication outlets.
Editorial management is supported by a Scientific Committee and an Editorial Board composed of national and international experts committed to academic excellence and thematic relevance in the fields of care, health, and human occupation.
Publication Frequency
The journal follows a semiannual publication schedule, with two issues per year:

Submission and Publication Fees
Cuidado y Ocupación Humana is an open-access publication that does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, peer review, or publication. Likewise, readers are not required to pay any fees to access or download published articles.
Plagiarism Screening
The journal performs plagiarism and self-plagiarism analyses using licensed institutional software provided by the University of Pamplona. All manuscripts are screened to verify originality before advancing through the editorial process.
Digital Preservation and Identifiers
Cuidado y Ocupación Humana ensures the digital preservation of its content through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and associated preservation systems. Published articles benefit from preservation mechanisms that guarantee long-term accessibility and availability.
Interoperability Protocol
The journal uses the OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) protocol for metadata harvesting and dissemination, ensuring interoperability with digital repositories, academic search engines, and preservation systems. This contributes to the visibility, accessibility, and impact of published content.
