Occupational balance is a key determinant of well-being and job performance, especially among young people facing multiple demands during their emerging adulthood. In demanding work contexts like the recreational sector, which involves high emotional loads, long hours, and the need to maintain a constant positive attitude, understanding this relationship is fundamental. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between occupational balance and job performance in young workers of a recreational sector company in Bucaramanga. This was a quantitative study with a correlational design, which included 88 employees between 19 and 30 years old, selected through stratified random probability sampling by age. Two validated instruments were applied: the Occupational Balance Questionnaire (OBQ-E), which assesses satisfaction with daily activities, and the Work Environmental Impact Scale (WEIS), which examines the influence of the work environment on performance. The results showed a positive association between greater occupational balance and better job performance. Factors such as the perceived meaning of activities, rest, social interactions, and time demands were identified as key determinants in this relationship. These findings reinforce the need to implement occupational intervention strategies aimed at promoting a healthy balance in daily occupations, to enhance performance and well-being in highly demanding organizational environments.
