History and evolution of physical education: a significant account through time

Abstract

This reflection article with a qualitative approach recognizes the importance of physical education in human life and its influence on the construction of society. For its preparation, a review of multiple documents was carried out, including theses, scientific articles, books, and website publications, systematizing all the source information obtained into a reference matrix regarding the events of physical education and physical activity from their origins to the present day, achieving a descriptive and historical scope. It also observes how its practices, exercises, and activities have evolved; its transformation over time is evidenced by analyzing its possible influence on events since the beginning of humanity, passing through the different eras and cultures of history. In the same way, it observes how these have contributed at all times to the progress, liberation, and growth of peoples since their appearance; from this, it can be inferred that physical education and movement are present in human life from before birth until the moment of death, and with it, its influence has been a factor of change in the social dynamics of peoples.
