Alternative Justice and a Gender Perspective: Training of Conciliators and Praxis in Norte de Santander

Justice is constantly evolving, and the incorporation of Conflict Resolution Mechanisms (CRM) represents a significant advance in facilitating access to the administration of justice. However, it is essential to analyze whether the innovations brought by CRM are free from the problems currently facing the justice system. From a gender perspective, it is crucial to ask whether gender inequality also affects conciliations, as this is the most common form of alternative justice in Colombia. Furthermore, the lack of adequate training for extrajudicial conciliators in law within legal clinics could perpetuate misogynistic and sexist biases, jeopardizing the future of the administration of justice and the right to equal access to effective judicial protection for women and girls
