Abstract

The main purpose of this research was to develop a conceptual interpretive model of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a disruptive process in agricultural management, approached from a complexity perspective in the municipality of Colón, Zulia State, Venezuela. The study followed a qualitative approach within an interpretive-constructivist paradigm and employed ethnomethodology. Five key participants: university lecturers, managers, and agricultural producers were interviewed using a semi-structured interview that allowed them to elaborate on their responses. The Agro-managerial System of Disruptive Adaptation (SAAD, according to its Spanish acronym) represents a situated, multivocal, and relational model of interaction among managerial, technological, and cultural processes in rural contexts. It emerged as an interpretive response to technological disruption in settings characterized by limited infrastructure and high symbolic density, such as the municipality of Colón. The five theoretical constructs developed in this research should not be understood as isolated units, but rather as subsystems within a broader framework, referred to here as the Agro-managerial System of Disruptive Adaptation (SAAD). This system provides a complex, situated, and relational interpretation of technological phenomena in rural territories, such as the municipality of Colón in Zulia State, Venezuela, where innovation is not imposed but negotiated, filtered, and reinvented through practice. This model may serve as a analytical framework applicable to studies conducted in other rural territories with comparable characteristics, as well as a conceptual basis for designing public policies, agricultural management training programs, and strategies for implementing technology through an ethical and participatory approach.
