Focus and Scope

The peer-reviewed journal CIE. Knowledge, Research and Educations is a biannual scientific publication edited by the University, aimed at disseminating original research, case studies, critical reviews, and significant experiences in the fields of education, pedagogy, applied social sciences, and human development. Its mission is to contribute to the strengthening of academic and professional knowledge, promoting reflective, critical, and interdisciplinary analysis of educational, formative, and social processes in diverse contexts, with a special focus on Latin America.

The journal is structured around three thematic axes: knowledge, as the theoretical and practical foundation of understanding; research, as a transformative tool of reality; and educations, in plural, recognizing the multiplicity of approaches, contexts, and actors involved in building a more just, equitable, and inclusive society.

In its most recent volumes, the CIE Journal has addressed topics such as innovative didactic strategies, educational inclusion, digital competencies, citizenship, leadership, sustainability, neurodidactics, higher education, gender equity, and social transformation, showing a constant commitment to current challenges in education and the human sciences.

All articles are peer-reviewed through a double-blind process and meet academic quality standards, promoting dialogue among researchers, teachers, students, and professionals interested in developing socially impactful knowledge.

This is an open-access journal, meaning that all its content is freely available to users or their institutions. The material is published under the (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license. This allows users to:

Submission and Publication Fees

Free of charge: The journal *Engineering, Sustainability and Society* is an open-access publication that does not charge any fees for the peer-review and publication process, including review, layout, printing, and distribution. There are also no fees for accessing or downloading the journal.

Anti-Plagiarism Policy

Through the use of the Turnitin software, licensed by the University of Pamplona, the journal conducts plagiarism and self-plagiarism checks to ensure the originality of submitted manuscripts. The journal editor registers the author’s document in this online software.

Digital Preservation and DOI Policy

The journal ensures digital preservation of its content through the use of Open Journal Systems (OJS). All published articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), a persistent identifier managed by Crossref, ensuring long-term accessibility and traceability of publications.

Interoperability Protocol

The journal guarantees long-term preservation and continuous access to its published issues. It also provides detailed and high-quality metadata, facilitating indexing and visibility on global platforms, thereby contributing to knowledge sharing and increased academic impact.

Ownership and Management

The University of Pamplona is the publishing entity that, through budget allocations for annual publications, sponsors the journal under the responsibility of the Vice-Rectory for Research. The publication is edited in Colombia, with its main office located in Pamplona, Km 1 Vía Bucaramanga, University Campus Pamplona, Norte de Santander, Colombia.
