ARTICLE STRUCTURE
1. ARTICLE HEADER
1.1. Title
The title should clearly and precisely describe the content of the article, allowing the reader to easily identify the topic. It should not exceed fifteen (15) words.
1.2. Author Information
A maximum of three (3) authors per article is allowed. It is essential to include the full names and surnames of the authors, in the order in which they should appear, as well as their academic background. The institutional affiliation, email address, and ORCID code of each author must also be provided. Additionally, a separate file should include a summary of each author’s updated CV, including address, city, phone number, email, and nationality or place of origin (municipality).
1.3. Origin of the Article
Specify whether the article is the result of research, a thesis, etc. If it results from research, indicate the project title, executing institution, project phase, and start and end dates.
1.4. Abstract in Spanish and English
Provide an abstract in both Spanish and English summarizing the objectives, methodology, and main conclusions of the work (maximum 100 words). The abstract should include:
- Brief description of the research object and objectives.
- Brief review of the supporting theories.
- Methodological aspects (type of research, procedures, techniques, and tools) and general results.
- Keywords in Spanish and English (5 to 6 keywords).
2. TYPES AND FORMAT OF ARTICLES
Articles accepted by the CIE Journal will follow one of the following structures: scientific or technological research articles, reflection articles, or review articles. This classification is according to Publindex-Colciencias-Colombia.
During the peer review process, attention will be paid to writing style (third person), use of accents on capital letters, and italicization of foreign language terms. The following sections should be included depending on the article type:
Scientific or Technological Research Articles:
Introduction, theoretical framework, methodology, results and discussion, conclusions, and references (minimum of 25 citations, listed alphabetically at the end).
Reflection Articles:
Introduction, development, final considerations, and references (minimum of 25 citations, listed alphabetically at the end).
Review Articles:
Introduction, theoretical development, and references (minimum of 25 citations, listed alphabetically at the end).
Presentation Format
Articles must meet the following specifications:
- Paper size: Letter (21.5 x 28 cm)
- Font: Arial, size 12
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
- Processor: Word
Figures and tables must be coded with titles and numbered consecutively at the top. When referenced in the text, the connection must be clear. All illustrations, graphs, and tables should appear in the body of the text. Figures and graphics must cite their original sources and include written permission from copyright holders. The number of graphs and tables should not exceed two pages in the results section.
Length: Minimum of 15 and maximum of 25 pages. (Articles outside this range will not be evaluated.)
Referencing and citation must follow APA standards. Full references must use a hanging indent and be listed alphabetically. All in-text citations must appear in the reference list.
