Composición corporal y rendimiento físico en estudiantes universitarios: análisis transversal mediante bioimpedancia y pruebas de salto vertical

La composición corporal es un factor importante tanto para el rendimiento físico como neuromuscular en estudiantes universitarios, sin embargo, es escasa las investigaciones en este campo. El propósito de este estudio fue examinar la evaluación de la composición corporal con el rendimiento físico de los estudiantes en el Programa Profesional en Deporte. Se realizó un estudio observacional de corte transversal con enfoque cuantitativo y alcance descriptivo-correlacional, en el que participaron 20 estudiantes (14 hombres y 6 mujeres) seleccionados mediante muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. La composición corporal se evaluó mediante bioimpedancia, mientras que el rendimiento físico se determinó con las pruebas de salto Abalakov, Countermovement Jump, Squat Jump, dinamometría manual, salto horizontal y carrera de relevos 10 × 5 m. Los siguientes datos se evaluaron con las pruebas: prueba de Mann-Whitney U, prueba de clasificación de Spearman, regresión lineal simple y análisis de componentes principales. Los hallazgos destacaron correlaciones significativas entre la composición corporal y el rendimiento físico. Los participantes con mayor porcentaje de grasa corporal mostraron menor rendimiento en las pruebas de salto vertical, mientras que los participantes con mayor porcentaje de músculo presentaron un mejor rendimiento neuromuscular.
