Modelo hibrido en cascada para la asignación de revisores en artículos científicos

Resumen

Las revistas científicas enfrentan demoras en las publicaciones de nuevos números, debido a la escasez de revisores expertos y el aumento de sometimiento de artículos. Este estudio propone una combinación de modelos con diseño en cascada que utilizó como técnicas de procesamiento del lenguaje natural (PLN) y aprendizaje automático (AA) para automatizar la asignación de revisores. Se adoptó un enfoque cuantitativo con diseño experimental sobre registros históricos extraídos de la plataforma OJS de una revista científica real del área de Ciencias Sociales centrado en las disciplinas Administración de Empresas, contabilidad, económicas, pedagogía aplicada al fomento empresarial, emprendimiento, desarrollo local, innovación, tecnología (2021-2025). El modelo se estructura en tres etapas secuenciales: clasificación de aprobación del resumen, clasificación del campo disciplinar y la clasificación de la rapidez del revisor. Los resultados fueron: se evaluaron 100 combinaciones de representaciones textuales, clasificadores y técnicas de balanceo, con validación cruzada estratificada de 5 folds; Etapa 1, F1-macro =0.663 (SBERT+SMOTE+Random Forest); Etapa 2, F1-macro =0.966(TF-IDF + SMOTE+XGBoost); y Etapa 3, F1= 0.9578 (TF-IDF + NumCat+ RUS+ Random Forest). En conclusión, este diseño en cascada demostró ser viable, modular e interpretable para automatizar la asignación de revisores con datos reales (213 artículos, 117 evaluadores). La arquitectura secuencial permitió que cada etapa opere con la representación óptima para sus datos, contener errores y validar el modelo con datos reales.
