A bibliometric analysis of the literature on artificial intelligence in the field of business was carried out, using the Scopus database as the main source. The study identified a significant increase in academic publications in recent years, highlighting growing interest in how artificial intelligence has transformed the business landscape. The main trends were analyzed, including the adoption of machine learning techniques to improve operational efficiency and customer experience, as well as the use of predictive analysis to support data-based decision making. In addition, the specific barriers that companies in Latin America faced for the implementation of artificial intelligence were explored. They included technological limitations, specialized talent shortages, financial constraints and regulatory challenges. Through the qualitative analysis of relevant articles, the main lines of research aimed at overcoming these barriers were identified, such as the development of technological infrastructure, training programs and clear ethical and legal frameworks. It was concluded that, although there are significant obstacles, there are opportunities to promote the integration of artificial intelligence in businesses in the region, which could contribute to economic development and competitiveness in the global market.
