Digital Preservation and Self-Archiving

The journal Cuidado y Ocupación Humana is committed to the digital preservation of its content. The following measures have been implemented to ensure long-term accessibility and integrity:

  1. Use of the Open Journal System (OJS): The journal employs OJS to efficiently manage its publications and ensure the digital preservation of its content.

  2. Assignment of Digital Object Identifiers (DOI): Every article published in the journal receives a DOI, providing a persistent identifier assigned through Crossref. This facilitates the unique identification and citation of articles within the academic community.

  3. CLOCKSS and LOCKSS digital preservation services: The journal participates in the CLOCKSS and LOCKSS digital preservation networks, ensuring that its content is safeguarded across multiple servers worldwide. This guarantees availability and recovery of the material even in cases of technical failures or data loss.

  4. Open Access Policy: The journal adheres to an open access policy, meaning that its content is freely available to all users without access or download fees. This policy fosters knowledge exchange and promotes the dissemination of academic work.

LOCKSS

RCOH ensures the preservation of its digital content using LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), a system that distributes multiple copies of the material across different locations, ensuring its availability and protection against failures or data loss.

CLOCKSS

In addition to LOCKSS, RCOH participates in the CLOCKSS network (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), a global dark archive that provides robust and secure backup, ensuring that the journal's content remains accessible even in the event of irreversible loss of the original source.

Authors are permitted to deposit their articles in institutional repositories, thematic repositories, personal websites, or academic platforms, provided that the published version of the article is properly cited.

The following versions may be deposited:

  • Postprint version: The manuscript accepted after peer review, which may be made publicly available immediately upon acceptance.
  • Final published version: The official version edited and formatted by the journal, available after its final publication.
