Author Guidelines
The Cuidado y Ocupación Humana Journal of the University of Pamplona is published annually and accepts articles in both Spanish and English.
The following recommendations should be considered by authors before submitting an original scientific or technological research article presenting the original results of research projects.
Publication Thematic Areas
The Cuidado y Ocupación Humana Journal publishes original contributions that address, from empirical, theoretical, or applied perspectives, the relationships between occupational performance, human well-being, and contemporary social contexts. The journal prioritizes rigorous research in the following areas:
- Occupational Performance and Human Participation
- Health, Well-being, and Quality of Life
- Care, Autonomy, and the Life Course
- Occupational Therapy in Clinical, Community, and Educational Contexts
- Disability, Inclusion, and Human Rights
- Physical, Social, and Cultural Environments that Shape Occupation

- Interventions, Innovations, and Technologies for Human Occupation

Manuscript Submission Guidelines
Before submitting your manuscript, authors must ensure that the content aligns with the thematic areas and editorial orientation of the journal. Additionally, the manuscript must be original and unpublished, meaning it must not have been previously published or concurrently submitted to another journal or publisher.

Step 1: Manuscript Preparation
- Authors interested in submitting their work must use the formats provided by the journal.
Step 2: Author Information
- Complete the personal information for each author: full name, nationality, country and date of birth, type and number of identification document, institutional affiliation, academic level, phone number, email address, and ORCID link.
- If the author does not have an ORCID profile, they are encouraged to create one before submission.
- Provide detailed information about the associated research project, including project title, objective, abstract, type of project, dates, justification, description of needs, impact, goals, duration, total budget, and executed budget.
Step 3: License Letter and Conflict of Interest Declaration
Authors must submit the License Letter and Conflict of Interest Declaration duly signed by all co-authors.
If the article includes images or tables, these must be submitted as individual files in PNG format, with appropriate resolution to ensure correct reproduction. Files must be named according to their order of appearance (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1).
All citations and references must follow the APA guidelines (latest edition) or be generated using Microsoft Word’s reference manager.
The journal uses Turnitin for textual similarity detection, with a maximum allowed similarity threshold of 17%.
- Similarity reports are reviewed carefully throughout the editorial process.

The Editorial Committee will inform the author about the status of the article and any reviewer observations.
