Editorial Policies

Section I: Publication Policy

The journal Cuidado y Ocupación Humana establishes an editorial policy aimed at ensuring scientific rigor, transparency, and adherence to academic best practices. Each manuscript is evaluated according to international standards of quality and ethics, ensuring impartiality and consistency in the editorial decision-making process.

  • Submission of a manuscript implies full acceptance of this editorial policy and the applicable ethical guidelines.
  • All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review, with at least two reviewers who have demonstrated expertise in the manuscript’s thematic field.
  • Evaluation is based on criteria such as academic quality, originality, relevance, methodological soundness, argumentative coherence, and linguistic precision.
  • Possible editorial decisions include acceptance, acceptance with revisions, or rejection.
  • Peer review constitutes a technical input but does not guarantee the acceptance of the manuscript.
  • No document will be rejected without evaluation by specialized reviewers.

Section II: Authorship

Authorship must accurately reflect the intellectual and technical contributions of each participant in the study. Strict adherence to international ethical standards is mandatory.

  • Manuscripts must include an updated, relevant, and sufficient reference list to support the content and conceptual framework.
  • All types of funding, institutional support, or sponsorship must be explicitly declared.
  • Articles must be original and not simultaneously submitted to other journals. Plagiarism, data manipulation, and substantial duplication of previously published content are unacceptable practices.
  • Manuscripts that substantially or identically replicate previously published work by the same authors or others will not be accepted.

Section III: Responsibilities of the Authors

Authors are responsible for ensuring methodological integrity, conceptual clarity, and adherence to ethical and editorial standards.

  • Only unpublished manuscripts that comply with editorial policies and have not been previously disseminated will be accepted.
  • Providing the ORCID identifier for each author is mandatory.
  • Authors must ensure the absence of conflicts of interest that may influence the interpretation of results.
  • Acknowledgment of individuals or institutions that contributed to the project is recommended.
  • All content taken from other works must be accurately cited; any omission will be considered plagiarism.
  • Requested revisions must be completed within the established deadlines.
  • Any indication of author identity must be avoided to preserve the double-blind review process.
  • Simultaneous submission of the manuscript to other journals is not permitted.
  • Submission of the manuscript implies full acceptance of the journal’s editorial guidelines.
  • Authors must sign a copyright transfer agreement authorizing reproduction and dissemination of the article.
  • The journal may apply minor stylistic adjustments without altering the scientific content.
  • Authors will assume any legal implications arising from authorship or intellectual property disputes.
  • No fees will be charged for the publication of articles.
  • A rejected manuscript may be submitted to other journals only after formal notification of rejection.
  • Accepted and published articles become the property of the Universidad de Pamplona and may not be subsequently submitted to other editorial outlets.

Section IV: Responsibilities of the Reviewers

Reviewers play a key role in ensuring scientific quality and must act with impartiality, technical rigor, and complete confidentiality.

  • Reviewers must maintain full confidentiality and not reveal their identity in order to preserve the double-blind review process.
  • They may not share, distribute, or reuse the content of manuscripts under evaluation.
  • They should accept only manuscripts aligned with their academic training and areas of expertise.
  • In cases of rejection, reviewers must provide clear and technically supported arguments.
  • Reviewers must comply with the established deadlines and submit their evaluations in a timely manner.
  • The language used in reports must be respectful and professional.
  • Any conflict of interest identified during the process must be reported to the editorial committee.
