Effectiveness of myofunctional therapy in craniofacial syndromes

INTRODUCTION: Myofunctional therapy is the most innovative and easily adaptable option, raising the question of the effectiveness of the therapy and its exercises that allow for improvement in patients with craniofacial syndromes. METHODS: A systematic review of data collection was conducted, allowing for hypothesis generation and answering questions using the PRISMA methodology. These questions were organized according to the PICO framework, and articles were selected using the PRISMA methodology. RESULTS: This review demonstrated the effectiveness of myofunctional therapy in patients with craniofacial syndromes; articles were screened and included according to the PRISMA diaphragm. ANALYSIS AND DISCUSSION: Myofunctional therapy is effective as an alternative pre- and postoperative treatment through exercises that promote patient improvement. CONCLUSIONS: The search reveals the effectiveness of myofunctional exercises as an easily accessible and effective treatment.
