The Revista Ciencias Básicas en Salud (CBS) publishes original articles related to the disciplines of health sciences. It also provides space for contributions that integrate scientific knowledge with related fields under an interdisciplinary approach, including science and technology management, education, and social and human sciences. The journal prioritizes works that combine knowledge and methodologies to advance research in health and related fields.

This is an open access journal, which means that all its content is freely available to users or their institutions. The material is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). This license allows users to:

  • Copy, distribute, and share the material in any medium or format.
  • Remix, transform, and build upon the original content, without the obligation to use the same license.

However, these permissions are subject to the following conditions:

  1. Attribution (BY): Appropriate credit must be given to the author and the source, a link to the license must be provided, and any changes made should be indicated.
  2. Non-Commercial (NC): The material may not be used for commercial purposes, either in its original form or as a derivative work.

This license facilitates the use of the journal’s content for educational purposes, summaries, analyses, or other non-profit uses, as long as the original authorship is respected. For any commercial use, explicit permission from the copyright holder is required.

Submission and Publication Fees. Free of Charge

The Revista Ciencias Básicas en Salud (CBS) is an Open Access publication that does not charge any fees for the peer review or publication process, which includes review, layout, printing, and distribution (APCs). As an open access journal, it also applies no fees for accessing or downloading the journal content.

Anti-Plagiarism Policy

Through the use of the Turnitin software, licensed by the University of Pamplona, the CBS Journal conducts plagiarism and self-plagiarism analysis to ensure the originality of submitted manuscripts. The journal’s editor uploads each manuscript to the online software.

Digital Preservation Policy and Use of Persistent Identifiers

The Revista Ciencias Básicas en Salud (CBS) ensures the digital preservation of its content through the effective use of Open Journal Systems (OJS). All articles published in the journal are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), a persistent identifier managed by Crossref, which guarantees long-term accessibility and traceability of publications.

In addition, the journal is part of the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), where its content is securely stored using the LOCKSS system, developed by the Stanford University Library. This digital preservation infrastructure ensures a permanent and reliable archive for the journal, safeguarding information against potential loss or digital deterioration.

The CBS Journal currently operates on the Open Journal Systems platform version 3.5.0.1 and is indexed in several national and international repositories, including Latindex and DIALNET. All published articles use DOI identifiers, which are managed and registered within the OJS system.

Interoperability Protocol

The journal not only implements advanced interoperability protocols, such as OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative – Protocol for Metadata Harvesting), but also ensures that its content is easily accessible and reusable by a wide range of distribution systems, including digital repositories, aggregators (harvesters), and academic search engines. Thanks to integration with systems such as LOCKSS and CLOCKSS, the journal guarantees long-term preservation and continuous access to its published issues, offering greater security to readers and institutions interested in the permanence of scholarly information. Additionally, the journal provides detailed and high-quality metadata, facilitating indexation and visibility on global platforms, contributing to knowledge exchange and the expansion of its academic impact.

The University of Pamplona is the publishing entity that sponsors the journal through budget allocations for periodical publications, under the responsibility of the Vice-Rectory for Research.
