Evaluation of preventive alternatives for the management of Plasmodiophora brassicae Woronin in cauliflower crops under the conditions of the municipality of Mutiscua Norte de Santander

Abstract

The objective of the present research was to compare the efficacy of treatments such as agricultural lime and biological media combined with the rooting agent Naphthalene Acetic Acid (N.A.A.) in a preventive way for the control of Plasmodiophora brassicae in the cultivation of broccoli (Brassica olerecea var itálica). A broccoli culture was established with a completely randomized design, where 6 treatments were implemented each with four repetitions, for a total of 24 experimental units (plots). Phytosanitary and morphometric variables were evaluated and an analysis of the economic efficiency of the treatments was carried out. The corresponding statistical analyzes (ANOVAS) were performed. The best preventive alternative for the management of P. brassicae in this research work and under the edaphoclimatic conditions of the municipality of Mutiscua; was the use of B. subtilis + A.N.A., since it had a better performance of several variables evaluated as incidence and leaf severity, root severity, and area under the disease progress curve, although Trichodernma + A.N.A. had similar results in terms of incidence and foliar severity and this and lime similar in terms of severity of root hernia. All treatments showed gains with respect to the control, but the B. subtilis + ANA treatment achieved the highest yield, exceeding by 3t / ha that of agricultural lime and the highest gain, being the only one that exceeded, although only slightly, the economic efficiency of agricultural lime, which is very cheap for farmers.
