This work addresses the question: Is it possible to model the stochastic behavior of the water balance processes in the upper part of the Fonce River basin using the Pearson-Wiener System? The study was carried out within the framework of the UMNG ING 1770 research project of 2015, with financial resources from the Vice-Rectory of Research and in collaboration with the University of Pamplona. The Pearson System is an ensemble of statistical models used in various branches of science (finance, economics, physics, chemistry) to simulate the behavior of process trajectories based on historical data. In the field of civil engineering, it was described by renowned hydrologists since the early and mid-20th century, such as Foster and Ven Te Chow. The results show that the annual behavior of precipitation, evaporation, and runoff is adequately modeled using the various types of the Pearson System.
