The research analyzes sociocultural factors that affect child malnutrition among the Wayuu ethnic group in the Upper, Middle and Lower Guajira regions of Colombia. The study combines quantitative and qualitative techniques to understand the situation that these communities are experiencing. Surveys were carried out in 21 indigenous communities, involving families, complemented by focus groups, direct observation and interviews with traditional authorities. The results reveal the risk of malnutrition in this population. The research concludes that child malnutrition in the Wayuu community endangers one of the most important ethnic groups in the Americas, who have preserved ancestral and environmental knowledge. The need to implement comprehensive interventions that respect the Wayuu worldview is emphasized, to protect natives who represent the history of life on the planet. And how health and nutrition services could be adapted to the cultural context
