In Mexico, overweight and obesity constitute a major public health problem, and interventions aimed at modifying eating habits have shown limitations in adherence and long-term sustainability. The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of three intervention modalities on food consumption responses, body composition, and therapeutic adherence among Mexican women with overweight or obesity. A mixed-methods study with an exploratory scope was conducted using a quasi-experimental pre–post design withfollow-up (n = 9). Three types of interventions were implemented across three phases: baseline assessment; intervention (nutrition education, nutrition education combined with physical activity, and nutrition education, physical activity, and behavior modification); and post-intervention, focused on maintenance and adherence assessment. Following the intervention, six participants increased their fruit and vegetable intake, seven increased fiber consumption, and six reduced the intake of ultra-processed foods. Notably, two participants who were initially sedentary completed the planned training program during the intervention phase. Regarding body composition, seven participants showed reductions in body fat percentage; however, changes in body weight and muscle mass were heterogeneous, and no statistically significant differences were observed. Adherence decreased during the maintenance phase. The study shows preliminary behavioral changes associated with the intervention, particularly in dietary patterns and physical activity. However, the evidence remains exploratory and does not allow conclusions regarding clinical efficacy or causal relationships.
