Guide for Authors: Similarity Check with Turnitin

1. Introduction:
The Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences FACE Journal uses the Turnitin tool to verify the originality of manuscripts and to maintain high standards of academic integrity. Authors must prepare their texts in accordance with these guidelines.

2. Objective of the Similarity Check:
To ensure that manuscripts present an acceptable level of originality. The journal establishes a recommended threshold of 15% similarity.

3. Recommendations for Authors:

  • Prior review: Review the manuscript before submission, ensuring appropriate use of citations and references.
  • Proper citation: Similarity may result from direct quotations, paraphrasing, or previous works. Verify the correct attribution of all sources.
  • Preliminary tools: Use text-checking tools to identify matches before submitting the manuscript.
  • Percentage control: Keep the similarity level below 15%. If the percentage is higher, review and adjust the indicated sections.

4. Editorial Process:
The editorial team will review the similarity report generated by Turnitin. Manuscripts that exceed 15% will be analyzed in detail to determine the nature of the matches.

5. Commitment to Academic Integrity:
The journal appreciates the collaboration of authors in ensuring the quality and originality of manuscripts. For further inquiries, authors may contact the editorial team.

Important Notes:

  • A similarity score higher than 15% does not imply immediate rejection; clarifications or revisions may be requested when necessary.
  • Turnitin supports academic integrity but is not a tool for evaluating scientific quality.
