The Tropical Dry Forest ecosystem provides multiple environmental services, but is currently endangered due to various anthropogenic interventions. This study focuses on the recovery of vegetation cover in the edge effect of the remaining Bs-T forest on the Algodonal campus of the UFPS Ocaña. To this end, an area of 49 m2 was selected, in which actions were carried out to adapt the hydraulic system, tillage, homogenization, fertilization, and irrigation in order to establish three selected species, according to the requirements of the area. As a result, vegetation cover was established in the study area, both for the selected species and for 16 other species that emerged unexpectedly, thus halting the erosion processes that were evident in the area and contributing to a methodology that can be replicated in future ecological restoration actions in this important ecosystem.
