The systematization of the service delivery process in the laboratories of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at the University of Pamplona

Abstract

This project consists of systematizing the service delivery of the laboratories in the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at the University of Pamplona. The aim is to, through the implementation of information technologies, reduce paper usage, improve the service provided by the faculty’s laboratories, maintain attendance control for both professors and students, and optimize the management of physical resources, materials, equipment, and laboratory supplies.

To systematize the laboratory service delivery, the following steps were taken: first, the laboratory documentation (procedures, forms, and indicators) was analyzed, using information obtained from the description of the Integrated Quality Management System; second, a mechanism for systematizing the information was established through the design and development of software integrated with the university platform, using the JAVA programming language, with NetBeans IDE 8.1 as the code editor and MySQL (phpMyAdmin) as the database; third, a user control system for the laboratory service was selected, using biometric fingerprint readers; and finally, the system was validated for deployment in the different laboratory units.
