Abstract

The following research aims to evaluate phosphorus removal using coagulants in sedimentation processes in stabilization pond effluents that treat wastewater from the municipality of Valledupar. To this end, a sample of wastewater from the effluent of the Salguero de Valledupar-Cesar wastewater pond system was analyzed. Three types of coagulants (ferric chloride, polyaluminum chloride, and aluminum sulfate) were used to improve effluent quality through batch-type laboratory scale tests. The system was assembled
in the Environmental and Sanitary Engineering laboratories of the Universidad Popular del Cesar.
